When you are a registered member of a parish the church can provide for your pastoral needs to the fullest. By registering you are making a commitment to practice your faith. A practicing Catholic is one who attends Mass weekly and on holy days and is in good standing with the Church. This is important to be a Catholic in Good Standing to receive the Sacraments of Baptism for your child, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, or Holy Matrimony, and parishioner-rate tuition at Our Lady of Grace School. To be a Godparent or a Sponsor for Confirmation some parishes require that you receive a letter from your home parish stating that you practice your faith. Being a registered member is also helpful should you need the Sacrament of the Sick in an emergency, or for planning a funeral. You are also committing to support the holy mission of the church with your time, talent, and treasure. Registered members also receive a convenient year-end tax statement of contributions.
